Klara and the Sun: Kazuo Ishiguro
We bring the sunshine to the streets as the sky over Shoreditch darkens, with a bespoke light-up billboard to promote Kazuo Ishiguro’s luminous new novel, Klara and the Sun.
The Booker winner’s eighth novel and the first novel by Ishiguro since he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, expands on the theme of what it means to be not-quite-human, exploring love and loyalty through the eyes of an android. Following on from our Blackfriars takeover to mark the launch, we step-up our Old Street billboard site with a dreamy installation pairing colourful posters that depict a frame-by-frame rising of the sun, with a bespoke illuminated panel. The glowing display for Faber Books emulated the special-edition book cover, and its transformation after dark allowed day and night immersion.
‘The sun always has a way to reach us…’
