JACK ARTS worked alongside Posterscope to bring the exhibition to life at our 1 Quaker Street site, which welcomed a mesmerizing wave of starlings in flight. The bold and bright 3D display featured hot pink bird forms that glided effortlessly across the site, casting shadows as they joined the rest of their flock.

Emulating the exhibition’s interactive displays, passers-by were encouraged to engage with the poster site through a QR competition that offered £250 of NHM goodies, and aimed to finally answer the age-old question… which came first, the chicken or the egg?

The post Natural History Museum: Birds first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

In a collaboration between the World Museum, bee communication expert Professor Martin Bencsik and the artist Wolfgang Buttress, the exhibition is as detailed as the macro photography featured in the poster campaign. Bringing the world of bees to life through sculpture, art, projection and soundscape, the show aims to educate and inspire visitors to protect these intricate and resilient creatures and their habitats.

With AKA we took the exhibition’s ambitions directly to streets the with an immersive campaign that encouraged the passing public to create a bee-friendly future; Roscoe Street Liverpool and Oxford Road Manchester’s busy street-level sites were the perfect spots for the bee-friendly activations. The takeover poster sites were hand-embellished with tear-away seed pouches, made from sustainable printed fabric pouches. The iridescent display encouraged people to engage with the space, take the seed packs away and plant at home – bringing the campaign, and exhibition’s, ‘save the bees’ appeal to life.

The post Bees: A Story of Survival first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

As part of Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s Climate Action Together initiative, we encouraged the borough’s residents to party with purpose and host ‘Rewilding Raves’ to help local nature and biodiversity thrive.

From the borough’s network of green and wet spaces to private gardens, windowsills, and doorsteps, the campaign with Fieldwork Facility aimed to inspire small actions to create big change. Together with interactive QR-code poster designs and protest-plaque style installations in key locations, it highlighted the need to let nature go wild, with ideas from adopting a local street tree to creating doorstep bug hotels.

With an ambitious target to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030, the Rewilding Raves initiative and supporting campaign brought the importance of nature to the forefront, whilst transforming the borough from grey to green.

The post Hammersmith & Fulham Council: Rewilding Raves first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

To commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Historic Royal Palaces are replicating a dazzling natural phenomenon in the moat of the Tower of London. With 20 million seeds planted, it’ll provide the visual spectacle of a superbloom – while being carefully considered to provide natural habitats for insects and wildlife right in the centre of the city – with the display intended to live, flourish, and regrow again beyond the summer.

To give London a sneak peek of the forthcoming spectacle, we teamed up with AKA. Taking over one of our east London sites with packets of wildflower seeds for passers-by to take away, each removal revealed the colourful creatives underneath, piece by piece. Hoping to instigate some city-wide wildflower blooms, it brought Superbloom right to the streets.

The post Historic Royal Palaces: Superbloom first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Motivated by an urgent need to instigate widespread action amongst young people right across the globe – believing that to change everything, we need everyone – their concerts will be taking place everywhere, from Sweden and Brazil to London.

For one of their London launches, we worked with Climate Live on a surprise open-top bus tour of the city, with performances from Second Thoughts, Nova Twins and Girli alongside speeches from incredible activists. Giving the bus a fully customised vinyl wrap, arranging its journey around the city, and creating a buzz on the streets as we went, we shared Climate Live’s important mission with the world in the most creative and exciting way we knew how.

The post Climate Live first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Choose Earth had a pertinent message to share, asking loudly and clearly why many of the world’s indigenous leaders and communities weren’t being given a seat at the table for the conference. Working with Earthrise Studio, we brought the word to our sites in the city, spreading awareness on the street with poster creatives centred on leaders and environmental protectors who deserved to be heard.

The campaign had a huge impact as it was shared across social media: by Earthrise Studio, Choose Love, Brasil de Fato, and also by leaders the campaign revolved around – Sonia Guajajara and Célia Xakriabá – reaching hundreds of thousands of followers, and being re-shared onwards continuously by passionate activists from around the world.

The post Choose Earth: Earthrise Studio x Choose Love at COP26 first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

With work by 24 Black creatives and artists of colour, the exhibition underlines that those who are most affected by the climate breakdown, yet are least at fault, are people of colour. As The Colour of the Climate Crisis landed in Glasgow’s The Pipe Factory to coincide with COP26, we worked with Do The Green Thing to bring its dual purposes of poignant art and much-needed awareness to the heart of the city.

With artwork that sought to centre the leadership, ideas and experiences of people of colour on the frontlines of the crisis, the street poster campaign presented impactful excerpts from the exhibition and showcased its intentions, providing the perfect backdrop to climate demonstrations and protests parading through the city.

The post Do The Green Thing: The Colour of the Climate Crisis first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Calling for war-style mobilisation to get citizens involved in campaigning, lobbying and piling the pressure onto governments, they decided to raise awareness on the streets with something nobody could ignore – a giant, blaring siren, bleeding noise from our Shepherd’s Bush megasite.

Thankyou has a vision – A world where not one person lives in extreme poverty. They believe that to change the world, we must change the system so they exist to help end extreme poverty and give 100% of their profits to their charity partners. To achieve that purpose, instead of asking the public to donate money to their Trust, they started a company – which sells consumer products, from body care to food products, with all profits going to safe water, hygiene and sanitation programs, and food security programs in 16 countries. To grow this worthy initiative they need more support, that’s why we’ve helped them deliver an important invitation to Proctor & Gamble and Unilever housed in a crate within these massive glass sided vehicles. The hope is that these companies will take notice and join the movement too.

The post Thankyou: Are you in? first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Brighton & Hove littering rates increase by 267% this summer with 11 tonnes of rubbish collected from the beach in just one day as lockdown restrictions ease and thousands flock to the seaside.

We worked with Every Can Counts and Brighton and Hove Council to create this impressive Brighton rainbow on the seafront, as a tribute to key workers, and to highlight the benefits that can be achieved by recycling valuable aluminium drinks cans, rather than littering them. ‘Do infinite good’ as well as a positive affirming statement also refers to the fact you can endlessly recycle aluminium, ucrrently 76% of aluminium drinks cans are recycled in the UK – ECC’s mission is to get it up to 100%.

The giant structure was created using sustainable materials and over 2,000 recycled cans. We completed the seaside display by building golden can-shaped recycling bins, branded information boards and installing temporary chalk stencils to lead the way. The towering rainbow stands 7m tall against the seafront, (in between the i360 and upside-down house), providing a perfect photo opportunity come rain or shine – see the special build rainbow on display until 12 September 2020.

The post Every Can Counts: Do Infinite good first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.
