Under the Bridge: Old Kent Road with Southwark Council
Together with Southwark Council and Black Blossoms, we’ve transformed a street-side on the Old Kent Road into Under the Bridge, a showcase gallery for a series of community-orientated exhibitions. Curated by Black Blossoms, each display involves community partners and artists or creatives with strong personal connections to the neighbourhood.
After its debut display hosted local artist Nicola Hussein’s work, the official launch of the project site featured pieces produced by Kender Primary School with Bernice Mulenga and Amanda Holiday. Made possible by the Future High Streets Fund, the installation is the first step in a wider, ongoing project to regenerate the bridge and its surrounding area. Until then, Under the Bridge is a gateway to involving the local community in the process. Read more about the project here.
