SWG3 & Yardworks

Weaving down the riverside through Govan, Yorkhill and Partrick in Glasgow is a vibrant, open-air street arts district that has transformed the area. The G.R.I.D (Glasgow Riverside Innovation District) project, by multidisciplinary arts and events venue SWG3’s street art project Yardworks, works with communities to deliver workshops, commission murals, and bring art to the streets.  

The result is a patchwork of colourful murals by local and international artists, offering art that everyone can enjoy. The project invites locals and visitors to enjoy art, architecture, and Glasgow itself. Gary Mackay, the Studio Director of SWG3, said, “Public art can create opportunity, dialogue and space for sharing stories and we hope to strengthen and deepen connections in the next phase of development.” As part of the project, we offered up some of our sites across Glasgow – for interactive and live-painted works that celebrated the environments and communities around them.
