Sheffield Hallam University: The Next Generation of Artists
Creating space for artists to share their talent and stories with communities is what we love to do. And this spring, JACK ARTS partnered with Sheffield Hallam University to fill the city with their Graphic Design students’ take on what makes an impactful street poster.
In response to a flyingleaps talk hosted by BUILDHOLLWOOD’s Senior Arts Coordinator, Adrian Burnham, about the conception, production and display of posters seeking to capture our attention on the streets, this year’s cohort of L4 Graphic Design students created these visual invitations to pause and engage with our surroundings.
Using curated sites across Sheffield, JACK ARTS took these inspiring and bold pieces to create an outdoor gallery that prove we can expect exciting things from Sheffield’s next generation of artists. Artworks from these emerging creatives were included in the display: Aminah Choudhury, Annie Warburton, Esme Plant, Fran Dews, Isabelle Burzynski-Simms, Joey Storey, Lewis Howes, Martha Brimble, Maisie Peacock, Shay Bramwell, Tom Compton, and Viktoria Gerova.
