GIRLCRUSH: Florence Given

Off the back of her Sunday Times bestseller, Women Don’t Owe You Pretty, artist and writer Florence Given has made waves in the world of fiction with her debut novel GIRLCRUSH. Described as a “wild, weird and seductive modern-day exploration” of “life as an openly bisexual woman whilst also becoming a viral sensation”, it re-situates debates about today’s digital cultures within our potential future world, alongside a heavy helping of the feminist ideas the author found fame for.

To introduce GIRLCRUSH in London, we worked with Hachette on an impactful sample stunt and street poster campaign. Taking inspiration from Florence’s style, we created temporary tattoos to spray onto loads of passers-by in Shoreditch – reimagining the book’s cover illustration as if it were inked. Being the ideal way to make the moment memorable, we handed out samples of the story as we went along with vibrant street poster sites providing the perfectly paired backdrop – before Florence became a Sunday Times bestseller for the second time running.
