Why We Kneel, How We Rise: Michael Holding
Why We Kneel, How We Rise is the third and newest title from West Indian cricketing great Michael Holding. Building on the frank, unforgettable words he shared about his personal experiences and opinion of racial injustice during a rain delay in the England v West Indies Test series in July 2020, the book develops his discussion of the historical roots of institutionalised racism, and particularly examines how it affects sportsmen and women of colour.
To celebrate the publication of Why We Kneel, How We Rise in London, we worked with Simon & Schuster on a series of projections onto historical and iconic London landmarks. Taking in the African and Caribbean War Memorial in Brixton, Marble Arch, the Natural History Museum and Tate Modern, it provided the perfect way to spread Michael Holding’s words and message on the streets.
