Bristol Old Vic: Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead
Based on Nobel Prize-winning author Olga Tokarczuk’s controversial novel, internationally renowned theatre company Complicité presented Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead at Bristol Old Vic earlier this year. Conceived and directed by Simon McBurney, the play is part thriller, part comedy, and part ‘blistering poetic manifesto for the rights of animals and the environment’ and is touring the UK and Europe in 2023.
We worked with the Bristol Old Vic on a striking poster campaign, which mixed bold graphics and text for a dazzling checkerboard effect, across our sites in Bristol city centre. The theatre also ran a photography competition on their social channels, encouraging audiences to respond to Olga Tokarczuk’s quote (which appeared in the campaign), ‘We have a view of the world, but animals have a sense of the world, do you see?’, for the chance to win a pair of tickets.
