Bolu Babalola: Honey and Spice

Bestselling author Bolu Babalola has won a deserved reputation for penning authentically romantic and witty work. Honey & Spice, her debut novel, is no different – having been selected for Reese’s Book Club, won BookTok’s heart and been lauded by her contemporaries. The story follows Kiki Banjo and her unexpected romance with Malakai Korede, two ‘loveable characters’ who sparkle through the story as they attempt to salvage their reputations through a fake relationship. 

For the novel’s paperback release, we worked with Hachette’s Headline Publishing Group on a fitting celebration. Taking over one of our Brixton sites, a creative billboard brought Honey & Spice’s much-loved characters to the fore. It was the perfect way to mark the occasion: appearing on Babalola’s Instagram and Twitter accounts, she explains exactly why herself.
