Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show

Taking the excitement and creativity of young artists to the streets with the Royal Academy.

The Royal Academy of Artists is undoubtedly at the heart of the arts and culture scene within London and further afield. For over 250 years, they’ve been championing artists of all ages and nurturing a platform for the next generation of talent to grow from. The Young Artists’ Summer Show, having just turned five, is an open submission exhibition or UK students from 4-19.

More than 21,000 students participated in 2023, with artwork ranging from mysterious cats, Blu Tack blue whales and space parties, to gangster chickens, Christmas Day self-portraits and a sun-loving crocodile-dinosaur-bat. A panel of passionate artists and art professionals faced the challenging task of selecting 478 pieces from these submissions, which were showcased at the Royal Academy of Artists and are now available online to view.

We love the work that the RA are doing with the next generation of artists, so had the pleasure of platforming a further 12 select artists across our large poster sites in the UK. The campaign was a heart-warming experience for BUILDHOLLYWOOD and friends and families of the artists, with many proud parents and grandparents reaching out to us to ask where they could view their loved ones’ art.

The posters were posted across ten UK cities: London, Brighton, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow.
