Last Friday, we brought the spirit of the streets indoors to celebrate our collaboration with emerging photographer Suede.

After first partnering with Suede in August through our Your Space Or Mine initiative – where her series, Everyday People, appeared on billboards across the UK, this exhibition marked a powerful next step in her creative journey.

Using our space, The CarWash in Shoreditch, as her blank canvas, Suede transformed the adjoining Platform and building’s exterior into a riotous expression of colour, chaos, and charisma. Inside, the space was reimagined as an immersive gallery space, spotlighting the city’s next-gen creatives through her high-fashion lens. Complete with a DJ and bar, floor-to-ceiling vinyl wraps covered the rear of the room, fully transporting visitors into Suede’s technicolour world.

Amongst the fifteen portraits showcased, there was stylist Valeria Chrampani; painter and actor Adébayo Bolaji, chef Abby Lee who runs Mambow in Clapton and UKG original and MC Bushkin of Heartless Crew.

The exhibition was Suede’s tribute to the artistic community that helped shape her career – an opportunity to give back by using her platform to elevate emerging talent while seamlessly blending art, music, and cultural style into her own bold and unmistakable aesthetic.

The post Suede: 48 Sheets first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

BBC Radio 2 in the Park 2025 wrapped up a spectacular weekend of music, memories, and feel-good energy at Hylands Park, Essex. The event kicked off with a Friday night DJ party featuring sets from Radio 2 favourites, including Vernon Kay, Rylan, Scott Mills, and Michelle Visage, setting the tone for a vibrant, nostalgia-filled weekend. Glorious late summer weather and a relaxed, friendly crowd made for the perfect festival atmosphere, with fans of all ages coming together to enjoy three days of iconic hits and unforgettable performances.

The weekend’s live music was headlined by Bryan Adams on Saturday and Def Leppard on Sunday – both delivering powerhouse sets full of classic anthems. The line-up also featured standout performances from Jessie J, Stereophonics, Anastacia, Suede, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and more, blending pop, rock, and soul across generations. We’re so pleased to be along for the ride, papering and pasting walls in technicolour to bring the event’s branding to life and to provide the backdrops to memories that’ll be around for years to come. With the sun setting behind the main stage and thousands singing along to songs they’ve loved for years, Radio 2 in the Park 2025 proved once again why it’s one of the UK’s most beloved music events.

The post Radio 2 in the Park first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

As the festival season began to wind down, the energy did not. With a riot of a headliners including Chappell Roan, Amyl and the Sniffers, Travis Scott, Hozier and Bring Me the Horizon, heads were banging, and feet were stomping. And with an unrivalled atmosphere, BUILDHOLLYWOOD couldn’t resist returning to sacred festival ground, showing up in full force, with paper and paste in hand.

Decorating the festival walls, DIABOLICAL partnered with CMS Music Media to shout some noise about Wolf Alice and The Kooks’ upcoming tours, keeping the dance going strong. JACK brought the spook factor to the fields with Dentsu, promoting Netflix’s second instalment of hit series, ‘Wednesday’, with a selection of witty posters that contrasted her macabre personality with the screaming crowds before her.

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, West London once again came alive as Notting Hill Carnival 2025 transformed the streets into a vibrant celebration of Caribbean heritage. With more than 2 million people in attendance, the city pulsed with colour, rhythm and booming sound systems at one of the world’s largest street festivals.

Amid the energy of floats, dancers, and live performances, BUILDHOLLYWOOD was on the ground, amplifying the spirit of Carnival. JACK brought a standout collaboration with Kinetic Worldwide placing MAGNUM at the heart of the celebration, a drink perfectly aligned with the bold energy of Carnival. JACK also brought Adidas Superstars into the spotlight with a star-studded cast, capturing attention on every corner.

JACK ARTS, in partnership with Altair Media, added a new dimension by bringing The Royal Academy into the mix. Their presentation of Kerry James Marshall: The Histories introduced fine art into the Carnival conversation, bridging contemporary creativity with Caribbean influence.

Meanwhile, DIABOLICAL and Spotify took Carnival beyond the streets for the second year running. Their curated playlist to help fans relive the weekend’s vibe, while a collaboration with CMS Music Media Ltd brought the global sounds of Major Lazer into the fold.

The post Notting Hill Carnival 2025 first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Headliners included the electrifying Charli XCX, fresh off the high of her Brat Summer takeover, alongside powerhouse performances from Peggy Gou, 50 Cent, and Rudimental. The festival brought together thousands of fans for a sun-soaked celebration of cutting-edge pop, rap, and electronic music. With high-energy sets, surprise guests, and a party atmosphere like no other, Parklife once again proved why it’s one of the UK’s standout summer events.

BUILDHOLLYWOOD had exclusive on-site access to Parklife and made its mark by postering the festival perimeter. JACK, in partnership with Pinpoint brought the spotlight to Bed Head in a bold and creative campaign. Manchester’s iconic event space, The Warehouse Project, featured prominently across our 48-sheet formats at the festival, thanks to JACK ARTS who also showcased Factory International’s Manchester International Festival (MIF) throughout the weekend. At the same time, DIABOLICAL teamed up with Live Nation and SJM to bring some of the freshest and most beloved artists to the Parklife.

The post Parklife Festival 2025 first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

BUILDHOLLYWOOD and Creative Review have partnered with 3D artist Joseph Melhuish for a public art installation in west London, using our digital screen and 96-sheet to bring the piece Listen to Your Heart to life. Featuring Melhuish’s signature quirky style, the artwork shows a smiling character literally tuning into their own heart, playfully visualising the metaphor. Designed to showcase the creative potential of 3D billboard art, the project highlights how physical installations can still make a strong emotional and visual impact in an increasingly digital world, something passersby in Shepherd’s Bush will experience firsthand.

The installation features a digital face display surrounded by intricate 3D elements crafted by our Creative Studio’s team. These elements include a layered torso with clothing peeled back to reveal a moving heart and oversized headphones connecting the digital and physical billboards with a glowing wire. Movement plays a central role, with artist Joseph Melhuish explaining that, unlike past concepts where motion felt forced, the animatronic heart in this piece naturally fit the idea from the start.

The post Listen to Your Heart by Joseph Melhuish first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Hosting over 80,000 revellers daily, Parklife‘s 2024 edition delivered it’s usual staples: world-renowned acts with heavy emphasis on electronic music. With headliners including Disclosure, Doja Cat, Kaytranada, Peggy Gou, J Hus and Four Tet, the festival reminds the nation of what makes Manchester a spirited cultural force.

BUILDHOLLYWOOD has exclusive on-site access to Parklife, and got to work postering the perimeter. JACK, alongside Talon, embraced the beauty of a one-day festival-fling with Specsavers and their contact lens range. Despite the unpredictable (yet somewhat predictable) British weather, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2024 in Luton didn’t let the rain dampen the experience of those ecstatic to welcome in a summer of music. Delivering an extraordinary mix of talent and energy, the festival witnessed memorable performances from Chase & Status, Coldplay, Charli XCX, RAYE, Aitch and others.

BUILDHOLLYWOOD, fittingly, had a big weekend of our own, postering 382 meters worth of fencing at the festival. DIABOLICAL worked with Polydor Records, for an impressive takeover of the festival site featuring artists such as Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Becky Hill and Mabel, and The Orchard to highlight headliner RAYE’s new album, via our 48 and 96 sheets. Meanwhile, JACK ARTS bought some culture into the mix, with Sacha Lord’s memoir, the Tate’s Yoko Ono exhibition, and the Moulin Rouge Musical.

Play is a universal human right: it’s how we explore the world, and it creates unique learning experiences for children and young people. Playspace is a vital initiative that champions this notion – we worked with them on an exciting project to bring the importance of creativity and play to wider audiences.

Working with thirty students from three selected educational zones in the borough of Hackney – William Patten Primary School, Stoke Newington School, and Shakespeare Walk Adventure Playground – the project saw young people develop ideas and designs that would be shared far and wide through large-scale billboard displays.

Through a series of creative after school sessions, the groups worked on deciding their themes, designs, and colour schemes, with each participant bringing a unique voice and identity to the project. The talent of the young people was evident from the start, with detailed sketches, humorous caricatures, and large-scale graffiti pieces coming out of the first session alone, ideas being formed and focused with advice from working artists and professionals throughout.

The final outcome was three collaborative artworks that explored what creativity meant to the groups, and the designs were displayed on large-scale billboards across Hackney for the community to enjoy. Supported by Hackney Council and developed with Queen Mary University, the project has been used to contribute towards research into the impact of creativity and play in educational settings, and also featured in a new documentary developed by Queen Mary University film students.

The post PlaySpace: Hackney Young Voices first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Created in collaboration with Year 5 students from nearby Carpenters Primary School, we helped to bring the installation to life.

The bespoke artwork highlights the wealth of plants and wildlife to be discovered along the route of The Line and in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and the blooming display was installed to mark the 10th anniversary of the London 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games.

To engage passers-by and park visitors, The Living Line features QR codes at the beginning and end panels. Linking to downloadable wildlife information packs and recorded audio of local schoolchildren, it helps to describe the pied wagtails, buddleia, and brown carder bees found within the illustrations, and in the green areas surrounding them.

The post The Living Line: Somang Lee first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

As years go by, summer becomes ever more synonymous with a vibrant, joyful, and thriving festival season. Having manoeuvred through the pandemic, 2022’s looks (and hopes) to be the first restriction-free one in three years – a very welcome prospect for fans and industry alike.

For us, we started out with a trip to the roving BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, then hoofed it to London’s wild, free and pop-filled celebration of LGBTQ+ identities at Mighty Hoopla. We got our metal fix at Download and matched it with a dose of electronic-driven energy from Manchester’s Parklife – each event as invigorating as the last, but with a wholly incomparable vibe.

From the punk and anarchic, to the pop devotees and dance music heads, the joy and euphoria has been palpable in every park and field we’ve set foot (and poster) in. We’re so pleased to be along for the ride, papering and pasting walls in technicolour to provide the backdrops to memories that’ll be around for years more. So – here’s to a hope for more fun in the sun, and all the rest that’s left to come.

The post Festival season so far… first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Reimagine Newham is a project that saw a collective of artists and the community come together to examine and interpret the world we live in. Centred around their experiences of the borough and angled as a new genre of public art, it encouraged participants to “deal with socio-political issues” and “search for the good” in trying times.

Curator Nicole Tatschl and creative director Kamila Szymkiewicz collaborated with artists, local students, and residents to create a programme that felt both representative and fruitful. Conversations among participants and their shared ideas worked alongside free augmented reality workshops – because it’s a medium that ‘allows for seeing things differently… to re-imagine, to recreate, to reinterpret’ – to produce AR artworks that reflected their concerns and covered a spectrum of issues from war to social housing.

Reimagine Newham culminated in a public exhibition at Royal Victoria Docks, making it Newham’s very first public AR exhibition. We worked alongside them to showcase it across the way in West London, with the 12 participants’ artworks featured on street posters for passers-by to scan and experience. As the borough with the lowest cultural investment in London, the Newham project was a wonderful way to cultivate connections and expand artistic engagement – showcasing art away from typical, sometimes intimidating gallery settings, and placing it right within London’s communities.

The post Reimagine Newham first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

As part of Hackney’s Black History in the Making season, international artist Kay Rufai has been bringing together a research-led mental wellbeing project for Black boys in the borough – called S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys.

The project was created as an alternative response to the rise in the number of young people being adversely impacted by violence, which has been met by reactionary measures from the national government. Tougher criminalisation of youth, increased stop and searches, and greater police presence in majority communities has seemed to hinder – not help – the issue.

Kay was instead inspired to consider the subject of increasing violence through the lens of public health – which required looking into the mental health provisions for the demographic in question – or as it became apparent, the lack thereof.

Kay’s research took him to countries with world-beating measures of happiness, including Denmark, Bhutan and Sweden. While travelling, he uncovered eight factors deemed responsible for the ratings – which were used to form the basis of subsequent workshops for 13-year-old boys back in London. Involving poetry, discussion-based art sessions and photography, the sessions sought to develop the boys’ ways of expression, encouraging them to explore their sense of identity, and find new ways to manage their own happiness.

Now, Kay has worked with over 300 Black boys from ten London boroughs. The projects have been used to create exhibitions across the city – including Hackney Council’s, which is presenting 17 portraits of its own S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys.

We’ve worked with Hackney Council to help display the portraits in public spaces across Hackney – including on a trio of our sites on street-sides in the borough – alongside an exhibition at Hackney Bridge, bringing important sentiments about happiness and community-focused solutions to the fore.

The post Hackney Council: S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

One thing we’ve loved this side of summer is being able to get back out into the fields at long last, as festivals made a triumphant return. Atmospheres felt at an all-time high, hitting heady levels of joy and euphoria as for the first time in almost two years, crowds gathered to hear their favourite tunes blaring out of giant speakers – come rain, shine or grey skies (of which there were plenty).

This year, we took to All Points East, Field Day, TRNSMT, Latitude, Download, Parklife, Reading & Leeds and Wireless to provide the all-important vibrant, colourful and creative backdrops to festivalgoers’ days and memories thereafter, transforming the structures of each site into bespoke poster installations. For us, this meant showcasing mega-campaigns for Netflix’s Sex Education, TikTok, The Warehouse Project, Little Simz, Sky TV’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Wolf Alice and many, many more.

The post Festival Season: 2021 first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Nothing beats the tangibility of vinyl. With sales continuing to rise year on year, it’s clear we’re not the only ones who think so. The ritual of dropping the needle on a spinning record and taking the time to really listen is worth celebrating – and Record Store Day does exactly that.

Taking place on Saturday 18 April 2026, the event first launched in 2007 and has grown into one of the biggest celebrations of new music and independent retail. Across the UK and Ireland, over 300 independent record stores take part, releasing exclusive vinyl pressings and hosting in-store performances, signings and events that bring fans, artists and labels together. This year, Olivia Dean joins as the official UK Ambassador, championing the culture and community at the heart of indie record shops.

Don’t miss the chance to be seen this Record Store Day and take the celebration onto the streets. From street posters and murals to creative billboards, ambient and experiential, we’re here to help you make some noise. Our map below highlights available London sites located on – or near – streets with participating record stores, putting your campaign right in the heart of the action.

The post Record Store Day: 2026 first appeared on BUILDHOLLYWOOD.
