Evelyn Clarke: The Ending Writes Itself

Working with HarperCollins, JACK ARTS Scotland brought some mystery to Waterstones in Edinburgh and Glasgow to launch The Ending Writes Itself, a new novel by Evelyn Clarke – the pen name for writing duo V.E. Schwab and Cat Clarke.

The interactive installation focused on fictional author Arthur Fletch’s final book, which remains unfinished after his death – his typewriter frozen mid-sentence. Inspired by the premise of the book, where six authors are invited to a remote Scottish island to compete to finish the novel, visitors of Waterstones were encouraged to use the typewriter to create their own ending, worthy of Fletch’s worldwide renown.
