Glasgow Girls Club
Glasgow Girls Club opens doors to opportunities and pathways for girls and young women facing adversity, so they can build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. The organisation helps them build confidence, express themselves, and take an active role in shaping their futures. Their work blends creative skills, community practice, and trauma-aware methods that feel safe and accessible.
For the Inform Women Transform Lives global initiative, Glasgow Girls Club and Glasgow City Council invited 30 young women from local schools, youth organisations and community groups to design artworks inspired by the work of Scots writer Len Pennie.
BUILDHOLLYWOOD Scotland supported the launch of the project by platforming the work in more than 25 different sites around the city – including our large-scale Tradeston 96 sheet – to coincide with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, which raises awareness of modern misogyny and all forms of sexism women still face across the world.
