National Theatre Wales: Feral Monster

Created by an all-LGBTQ+ team, National Theatre Wales’ newest production Feral Monster is ‘a banging new musical about an unremarkable teenager’. Written by Bethan Marlow, the touring musical follows loveable teenager Jax as she navigates love, identity, class and family in rural Wales, all soundtracked by a mash-up of grime, r&b, soul and pop that echoes the hormonal rollercoaster of adolescence.  

Launching at Cardiff’s Sherman Theatre, the production then travels across the country to Aberystwyth, Bangor, Llanelli and Brecon, accompanied by Feral Fest, an opportunity for young Welsh creatives to learn from industry professionals and gain invaluable experience in creating music for theatre. 

We teamed up NTW, with artwork from Studio Hicks, to create a splash of neon on the streets of Cardiff and Bristol, bringing the touring production to life across our street poster takeover and billboard sites, inviting passers-by to join in on the fun (including the cast and production team.)
