Eruption: Michael Crichton, James Patterson
Time is running out on Westminster Road; the site takeover is ablaze to mark the anticipated release of ‘the thriller of the year’ from two of the finest storytellers of all time.
Literary powerhouses James Patterson and Michael Crichton collide in a gripping new thriller, Eruption. Set against the backdrop of an imminent volcanic disaster, the novel uncovers a chilling military secret that surpasses any danger posed by natural forces. Eruption promises a fast-paced journey laden with scientific intricacy’s, high stakes and dramatic twists.
Together with Havas we brought the action to the streets in a looming site takeover that mirrors the scale of the novel’s impending threat. From the moment the creative billboard was installed, a clock counted down until the book was released.. 72 hours later (the clock then displayed the release date for the remainder of the campaign). By day hazmat suited workers warned the passing public of the danger to come in an interactive stunt; by night, the large light-box installation spewed sparks of molten lava alongside the glowing red countdown – an ominous visualisation of the danger to come. A creative publishing campaign erupting onto the streets and into the book charts.
