Edinburgh Festival Fringe

As the dust settles from August, and Edinburgh returns to business as usual, we are reflecting on the first year of BUILDHOLLYWOOD Scotland being (back) at the helm of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe advertisement scheme.

Each August, Edinburgh transforms into the largest arts festival in the world. To put it in figures, this year, over 300 venues across the city hosted artists and companies from 77 countries, presenting more than 4,200 shows across comedy, theatre, music, cabaret (and everything in between).

To accommodate the influx of shows to the Scottish capital each summer, its streets transform into a city-wide cultural noticeboard through a temporary street advertising scheme – helping promote the work to the masses.

Earlier this year we were successful with our tender application to become the official street advertising partner of City of Edinburgh Council during the Fringe for the next four editions – hurtling us on the path to a city-wide takeover in August of 3.5km of heras fencing, 2km of wood and 7,000 correx boards… powered along with a mega-sized pack of 1,000 teabags.

The work doesn’t stop when August ends, however, and our team are working behind the scenes – ensuring our services continue to improve and develop ahead of year two launching in spring 2027.
