Queer Brown Stories
Queer Brown Stories is an initiative led by and for the Queer & Trans South Asian community in Camden. Curated by Dhaga, this project expresses the community’s experience and aspirations for the future of cities through creative community engagement.
JACK ARTS partnered with Camden Council and Dhaga to showcase work by artists Aaran Sian and Sarith Ratnayake which weaved together stories unique to the local Queer and Trans South Asian community on our site at Camley Street underpass. The work, created through workshops for and by the community, explored themes including Queer joy, personal and collective histories, ancestral connections, navigating a Queer diasporic identity within the city, and the community’s visions for a more inclusive future.
