Public Enemy: Fight the Power
31 years after the release of hip-hop group Public Enemy’s iconic track Fight the Power, the protest anthem is more vital and relevant than ever. Its lyrics, which rally against racism and those in power, have a particular resonance during the Black Lives Matter protests. The group have released an updated version of the track to accompany our current revolution, refreshing it with contributions from Nas, Rapsody, Questlove and others.
To spread the message of their new, remixed Black Lives Matter anthem, and to announce their new album with Def Jam Records entitled What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down?, the Public Enemy logo was projected onto Parliament, Marble Arch and Tate Modern, making a huge and necessary statement.
