Olivia Rodrigo: Sour
Olivia Rodrigo has become a pop powerhouse in the blink of an eye. Her debut single, drivers license, broke Spotify’s record for the most streams in a single day and topped UK charts for nine weeks, so it’s easy to see why her first album was so hotly tipped. And it didn’t disappoint – Sour is super-sweet, a genre-bending, fine-tuned debut that is lyrically heartfelt, primed for singalongs, and impossible not to love – with 3 of its tunes entering the UK Singles Chart top 10 in the week after its release.
To bring Sour to London, Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow, we teamed up with Polydor, using billboards and 4 sheets across each city. Taking its aesthetic to the streets involved a pared-back purple artwork that let Olivia steal the show, with her face covered in stickers that are repeatedly woven through the album’s imagery. Alongside her trademark OR logo, they also formed the basis for a huge mural on Shoreditch’s Great Eastern Street – rightfully embodying the passionate teen spirit of Sour.
