Jessica George: Maame
Jessica George’s debut novel Maame is a coming-of-age story that sees a young Ghanaian woman exploring just who she’s meant to be. Following her journey with tenderness and humour through grief, family issues, dating and more, the book was an instant bestseller and has been deservedly lauded by critics.
We collaborated with Hachette and Total Media to celebrate the release of Maame, taking over the streets of Croydon with a bespoke hand-painted mural of the central character on a warm, fun and hopeful backdrop. With words that read ‘Be the heroine of your own life’, it was a beautiful message to send to people who might know what it’s like to walk in main character Maddie’s shoes.
