Chase & Status: What Came Before

Since the pandemic, things have shifted in the electronic music world. As people returned to clubs in droves, there was a palpable appetite for authenticity, turning heads back towards the origins of rave. Long-standing electronic music duo Chase & Status are no different: as they’re set to bring a familiar but re-energised ‘90s essence to their forthcoming 2022 album, What Came Before.

We teamed up with EMI Records to spotlight What Came Before in London’s Camden Town. While Chase & Status have won awards, topped dance charts and much more, they’ve retained their love for the raw energy and transcendence of a sweaty dance floor. Having distilled this into the new record, it’s been paired with album artwork taken from an experimental rave they held in London where phone cameras were covered, giving attendees a sample of the immersion of tech-free days gone by. With this supersized right on the street-side, the campaign perfectly showcased the forthcoming record in all its glory.
