Bristol Old Vic: How to Win Against History
How to Win Against History was a highly acclaimed hit at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016, earning praise for its dazzling production. The Bristol Old Vic is reviving this musical, promising a bigger and more spectacular version than before. The story follows the 5th Marquess of Anglesey, who squandered his family’s immense fortune on extravagant diamond-themed outfits, lilac-dyed poodles, and lavish plays that ultimately went unnoticed, leading to a scandalous tale from the Edwardian era. This riches-to-rags narrative comes to life in a hilarious and unconventional musical format.
JACK ARTS teamed up with Bristol Old Vic Theatre and Theatre Royal Trust to create a striking, larger-than-life display, with lead characters emerging from the billboard, enhanced by eye-catching metallic balloon installations that bring the opulence of the scene to life. A poster campaign has been launched alongside the creative billboard to raise awareness and build excitement for the production across Bristol.
