Art Angel: Men’s Outdoor Art Group

Our JACK ARTS Scotland team partnered with Dundee-based charity Art Angel – who support people with a lived experience of mental ill-health to heal and thrive through active participation in the arts – helping bring work from one of their art groups to sites across the city.

In a collaboration with The Baring Foundation, Art Angel hosted a regular walking art group for men, encouraging them to make art while exploring the city. The resulting work spans drawing, poetry, collage and cyanotypes – created in, and reflecting different parts of the city.

We brought these works to our drums located in the areas of the city that inspired them, alongside presenting a 6 in-a-row recreation of their large-scale wall map of the city, which developed and grew to host more stories and art with each outing.
