The City Always Wins censored mural
The City Always Wins is the debut novel by Omar Robert Hamilton, who brings to life the revolution of 2011 on the streets of Cairo – covering the chaotic period between Egypt’s elections and the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood’s government by the military. It follows the tale of two young activists during this time of unrest. In August we teamed up with Faber and Faber to help promote the novel in east London by creating a cryptic mural. Over the course of three days we had one of our street artists censor words from the mural, revealing the name of the book on the fourth day.
