The Beatles: Now and Then

Now and Then, dubbed the last Beatles song, has been 45 years in the making. Originally written and recorded as a demo by John Lennon in 1978, the song had been left unfinished for nearly 3 decades. Thanks to new AI-backed restoration technology, Lennon’s vocals were salvaged from the original cassette, and surviving bandmates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were able to complete the song, adding new lyrics, string arrangements and George Harrison’s guitar tracks from 1995. Considered “a poignant act of closure”, Now and Then has since garnered acclaim from critics and fans all over the world. 

In a tantalising teaser for the release, we teamed up with Universal Music Group to unveil a series of projections in the band’s home-city of Liverpool, featuring a mysterious cassette tape. Appearing at iconic locations all over the city; John Lennon’s childhood home in Woolton, the legendary Penny Lane, the gates of Strawberry Fields, and Mathew Street – home of the famous Cavern Club, the projections were featured across the band’s social media, and teased by the music press, leaving fans eagerly awaiting more. 

To mark the song’s official release a week later, larger projections graced the world-famous Liver Building and the Albert Dock announcing the song’s title, and a striking poster campaign hit the streets of Liverpool and London.
