Strange Field: APPARATUS, Morwenna Kearsley
Glasgow’s Strange Field supports local artists and communities to creatively experiment and develop new work across their two venues in the city’s East End. For their final exhibition of the year, they invited Glasgow-based visual artist Morwenna Kearsley to exhibit APPARATUS, a photographic series of work centred around analogue photography and the interconnection between the tools and materials used to form the final output.
JACK ARTS Scotland partnered with Strange Field for Kearsley’s first major solo show, taking her work out of the gallery and onto the city’s streets through a takeover of Duke Street, alongside hosting a selection of the works in our West Graham Street lightboxes. We also helped bring the street-format into the gallery space by printing and installing one of the artworks at 48 sheet scale within the main exhibition space – a huge, custom photographic monolith to bring the old print factory space to life.
