StoryTrails with the BFI: Bristol Sweet Mart
Working with the touring StoryTrails project and the British Film Institute, we realised the installation of a new mural in Bristol commemorating the city’s famous and much-loved Sweet Mart, started by the Majothi family after being exiled from Uganda. Arriving in South West England to begin new lives, they brought their culinary culture to Bristol with great success.
StoryTrails utilises augmented reality, modern technology, and BFI archive footage to retell local histories through immersive experiences. The Majothi family’s story is prime example, spotlighted during the exhibition’s stop-off at Bristol Central Library. Accompanying the mural, our street poster campaign with the project platformed Bristol’s heritage right in the heart of the city.
