Port Talbot Gotta Banksy
A powerful combination of people, power and street art is explored at the Sherman Theatre this May in their performance of Port Talbot Gotta Banksy – inspired by the story of a politically-charged Banksy popping up in the side of a local steelworker’s garage at Christmas and the international intrigue it generated. The play is a celebration of the strength of communities to withstand everything life has to throw at them whilst profiling some of the hardships of a post-steel industry town.
JACK ARTS worked with the Sherman Theatre to bring the campaign to life on the streets of Cardiff, a tiled 4-sheet campaign across city-centre sites featuring an image of the media frenzy the artwork created, a preview into the moment in which the play’s story begins.
