Ffotogallery: Ffocws 2023

Based in Cardiff, Ffotogallery has played a leading role in developing photography and lens-based media in Wales for over four decades. Showcasing artists from home and abroad, the gallery strives to foster ‘public understanding of and deeper engagement with photography and its value to society’ through its diverse exhibition programme. 

The gallery’s recent exhibition Ffocws 2023 brings together the work of fourteen emerging and early career artists from Wales who ‘challenge the process, medium and application of photography’ and explore a wide range of themes such as identity, community and migration as well as the impact of technology. Artists were chosen from a pool of recent graduates from across Wales, as well as via an open call collaboration with Cardiff M.A.D.E. 

Bringing works from Ffocws out of the gallery and onto the streets, we partnered with them on a vibrant street poster campaign across Cardiff to promote the show’s extended run.
