Jack Arts
BBC Scotland: Made of Glasgow
JACK ARTS Scotland partnered with BBC Scotland to launch the first phase of the Made of Glasgow campaign with a bold installation at Glasgow Central Station. A giant “Welcome” mat was unveiled, celebrating the city while paying tribute to the hit show Still Game. Featuring the show’s intentionally misspelt version of “welcome,” the installation was an instant hit with fans. The show’s stars, Greg Hemphill and Ford Kiernan, were on site to see the public’s reaction to the playful stunt.
Building on the momentum, the activation continued at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, where a complimentary coffee van served free hot drinks to commuters and passers-by throughout the day. The cart was a recreation of the one featured in Dinosaur, bringing the Glasgow-based storytelling from the series to life. By combining these two culturally resonant moments, the Made of Glasgow campaign celebrated the city’s creativity while engaging Glaswegians in a warm and memorable way.
