Feminists Don’t Wear Pink: Scarlett Curtis

Curated by Scarlett Curtis, Feminists Don’t Wear Pink is a series of essays from inspirational and powerful women about what the F word means to them. Published in partnership with UN charity Girl Up, the book features original and uncensored words from over 50 authors including Jodie Whittaker, Helen Fielding and Jameela Jamil. After becoming The Sunday Times Bestseller and National Book Awards Winner in 2018, we subsequently worked with Penguin and The Big Shot on an incredible London poster campaign.

Curtis and Penguin teamed up with feminist art initiative Herstory, whose founder Alice Wroe also contributed to the book, on a series of 4 sheet and 48 sheet posters right across the capital. The artsy campaign popped up to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first women in the UK gaining the right to vote and featured accomplished women from throughout history. With everyone from suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst to Elizabeth I adorning our sites, Curtis and Wroe went on a walking tour of the posters – with Curtis herself helping to post our Clapton 48 sheet. The campaign was featured everywhere from The Independent to Refinery29, and received over 500 likes on Penguin’s Instagram and a whopping 4.7k likes on Curtis’ personal account.
