Babel: R.F. Kuang

The New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller, Babel: Or the Necessity of Violence: an Arcane History of the Oxford Translators’ Revolution was the most anticipated fantasy novel of 2022. R.F. Kuang’s dark alternative history of Babel, the world’s centre for translation, explores ‘the power of language, the violence of colonialism, and the sacrifices of resistance.’ 

To celebrate the novel’s paperback release in 2023, we teamed up with HarperCollins on a two-phase campaign. Firstly, a special creative billboard with the tower of Babel itself standing loud and proud, birds flying off the frame and silver foil to tie into the new paperback cover. Then, taking things a step further with an experiential stunt where passers-by would have the chance to win a copy of the book by drawing a winning chocolate bar with a lucky silver ticket inside.
