Your Space Or Mine
WALK 9: reflections
Join the next walk with Alisa Oleva to explore urban reflections and how the city looks back at us through them.
Do you sometimes notice a glimpse of yourself in the reflections of vitrines or scooter mirrors? Do reflections write you into the fabric of the city? Do you notice how with darkness the bus windows start to reflect back what is inside? Do you sometimes take selfies in the mirrors abandoned in the streets? We will start together at The CarWash with some arrival exercises and then go out into the streets to catch reflections of the city, use mirrors to orientate and disorientate ourselves, mirror the structures and shapes of architecture around us, and see things upside down and flipped.
The walk is open to anyone – please come along if you are curious to explore walking and the city in a playful, critical, thoughtful and poetic way. It will start and finish at The CarWash in Shoreditch, 1 Quaker Street, London, E1 6SZ. There is no need to bring anything, but try to travel light and dress accordingly as it will proceed in any weather.
This event is free to attend. However spaces are limited, please RSVP using the form below to confirm your spot.
WALK: our series of free monthly urban art walks, hosted by performance and walking artist Alisa Oleva is part of our Your Space Or Mine project.
