Jack Arts: Curates

JACK ARTS curate campaigns for the culture space.  They know the streets are a canvas for the observant and the curious, they platform creativity and craft campaigns that connect to communities and showcase the best of UK art and culture.

This year, they took a moment to celebrate the change-makers within the arts marketing world. They curated an event designed to inspire and inform, exploring the future of out-of-home advertising and creative activations, while also clarifying best practices and processes to bring creative visions to life on the streets.

The spring event was a celebration of culture, bringing together museum and gallery clients in partnership with AIP to explore the intersection of our worlds. Set in their very own cultural venue, The Carwash, the event aimed to ignite conversation and foster inspiration.  A presentation of archival posters adorned the building, a testament to the rich cultural offering and powerful campaigns the team have had the pleasure to bring to life.  The event space was transformed with light-box interventions, campaign displays, film showcases and food and drink stations – what better way to explore their creative practises than full emersion?

The event featured a series of curated guest talks, hosted by Mia Baker, Head of JACK ARTS. Mia opened the session by sharing her favourite campaign activations, offering a deep dive into how JACK ARTS operates and why they’re so passionate about what we do.

Isobel Deevy brought her UK-wide expertise to the discussion, highlighting the value of strategic campaign placement and generating authentic activations during key cultural moments across their cities. Ella McCarron championed the team’s extensive experience in the arts, emphasising the power of meaningful connections and empowering stories that leave a lasting campaign legacy.

To end, celebrated mural artist David Shillinglaw, (whose recent mural collaboration with JACK ARTS and Camden Market was featured on the Quaker Street 48 street site on the front of the event space), spoke on his own working practices, the impact of art in the public realm and the fine balance between artist, public and client – whilst maintaining curiosity and authenticity (and humour) through it all.

Its fascinating to me how you can use art to change public spaces.’ David Shillinglaw ‘  BUILDHOLLYWOOD do quite good job to at least try and collaborate with artists and try make advertising a bit more interesting, authentic, creative and bring the street to life.’

Networking and conversations followed; a welcome moment to relax and connect in the fast-paced lives of those dedicated to introducing audiences to exceptional art and exhibitions.

JACK ARTS curated this gathering to unite creative industries, emphasising the significance of out-of-home in driving audiences, connecting to communities and creating campaign intrigue, whilst championing the power of our museums and galleries clients. This was more than just an event; it was an invitation to our arts and culture change-makers to connect, exchange ideas, and share their stories.  JACK ARTS: Curates, the first, of many bespoke event activations to champion the rich cultural landscapes of our cities.
